When you are browsing the movies available to rent, and you come across one with several A-ish list actors, you must rent it. That is the case when I ran across the DVD entitled “Timeline”. It has several well known actors like Gerard Butler, Paul Walker and Billy Connolly. Also, they have other great actors, such as Frances O’Connor, and Anna Friel supporting them. “Timeline” has some cool special features including some “making of” footage. It has a good commentary and some really neat settings, so be sure to check out the special features section.

Watch the “Timeline” trailer:

Now for the story… It is a typical “guy gets sent back in time – a crew travels back through time to rescue him – calamity ensues” movie. There is a twist though. You see in the future, (which would be the present to the crew) the crew is actually a team of archaeologists who have been involved in an extensive dig at the exact spot geographically to where they get “transported”. Of course, there are several pieces of information that they bring back in time with them to aid their quest to rescue their “magister”. Needless to say… this movie has quite a bit of action, including much swordplay, which is a big plus… to me anyway.

All you ladies who read this will be glad, I’m sure, to hear that Gerard Butler, DOES take his shirt off. And yes there is romance in the movie as well. What’s a good “travel back in time” movie, without romance?

I have always enjoyed medieval type movies. Although there are a few plot holes and a couple goofs, I enjoyed the movie. If you enjoy this type as well… I’d say… “It’s worth a rent”.
