“Righteous Kill” explodes on DVD!

All right! Here we go… De Niro and Pacino. A winning combination, right? I thought so… And I was RIGHT! Along with these two guys was a GREAT supporting cast, including Brian Dennehy, Donnie Wahlberg, John Leguizamo, Carla Gugino, and even 50 Cent. They all played very good roles. De Niro and Pacino were absolutely outstanding. You had to know that a movie featuring two of the finest actors of the modern era had to have some very special moments, and I am happy to say that this movie certainly didn’t disappoint in any way.

This is a really good “cop” movie. It turns out that Pacino and De Niro play “Rooster” and “Turk” respectively. When local pimps, dealers, and other violators who beat their charges, a police officer is suspected of the crimes. As the other officers on the force get closer to figuring out who the killer is, evidence mounts up against Turk. The fact that Turk is sleeping with Perez’s (played by Leguizamo) ex-girlfriend adds tremendously to the tension and
intrigue.
Several plot twists and some very intense acting and directing makes this a really good dvd rental. I would suggest watching this at home rather than in the theater so that you can “run it back” on screen and not just in your head. One piece of advice… Listen to what is said in the movie, not what you think you hear.
Also, the DVD has a couple cool “special features”. One item is and in-depth look at “Righteous Kill” and another is a “real life” exploration of cops and criminals. I feel that both features really added to the movie and gives you better insight on what the directors and actors were trying to convey through this film.
A good plot, exemplary directing and incredible acting make this film and excellent movie to watch on DVD. Just make sure you watch it when you can give it your full attention. This is one to add to your collection at home, so I say you should definitely buy this one.
